WHO’S TAKING CARE OF US…?
My name is Kim Ward and I’m a CAREGIVER. As a Caregiver for my Dad who recently passed away, I came to the realization that Caregivers sometimes go unnoticed as a result of the chaotic day to day duties of caretaking. Because CAREGIVERS and medical personnel are SO focused on the person being cared for; CAREGIVERS are often neglected. Taking care of loved ones is a HUGE endeavor done out of love; however, it can unintentionally take a significant toll on the CAREGIVER’s health (physical, mental, spiritual).
We need a viable solution to assist our CAREGIVERS out there who are struggling to stay above water and are being broken down piece by piece. Most times Caregivers are “breaking down” physically and mentally and don’t realize it until issues start popping up. Thus, the creation of “The Caregivers Network” referral service to assist Caregivers in identifying this breakdown process and to try to halt/reverse the damage. (note: FYI, this is all very personal for me since I lived it, continue to live it, and see others living it.)
Through the Network, we strive to REFER the CAREGIVER to trusted, professional, and well vetted holistic resources to help with those areas that are typically impacted… PHYSICAL, MENTAL, SPIRITUAL health. Because our approach is HOLISTIC in nature; we typically refer caregivers to holistic resources and practitioners. Examples of referred resources include:
Holistic Services that help the CAREGIVER relax, detox, and build to better cope with the daily stress associated with caregiving. Examples: Infrared Sauna, Ionic Detox, full body cleanse, supplements, functional doctors, health coaches, chiropractic care, etc….
Access to Christian Spiritual resources to help work through any spiritual issues resulting from the constant stresses of caregiving.
Grief Counseling for the CAREGIVER in the event the person being cared for passes away.
Recommendations for Home Health or Facility Health Care options from trusted and experienced caregiver organizations who strive to always have the family’s best interest at heart.
